Nutbuster 2007 performers!
We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you
to all the fans that came to support us at the Firehouse for our 20th
Anniversary performance. We can't say enough how grateful we are for each
and every one of you who packed the theater, eager to see what our small
group of passionate and creative dancers were inspired to create and perform
for you all. Your enthusiasm for our company and the art of dance is what
drives us to keep creating new and exciting pieces for the world to see.
So from the bottom of our hearts....Thank you so very much for helping
us to celebrate 20 years of creativity, passion, inspiration, sweat, cheers,
tears, love, aching muscles and hearts full of gratitude for the opportunity...to
dance.

Our 20th Anniversary performance at the Firehouse Center for the
Arts featured choreography by Fontaine Dubus, Susan Atwood, Stephen
Haley, Cheryl Schwind and Tricia Walsh. Some of those names sound
familiar? Celebrating20 years,
Exit's founders pulled out all the stops to make this show a memorable
one. Susan and Stephen had us swinging from the ceiling in Threads,
Fonny had us tied together at the hip in Prodigal Daughter,
Cheryl had us swaying in the forest bringing back her piece Landscapes,
which originally premiered in 1996. It was a stellar performance
featuring the old and the new.

Exit's premier performance of the Nutbuster was greeted with SOLD
OUT shows and unfortunately even more people were turned
away at the door! Who knew we should have booked another show! Wow!
Thank you to all our loyal fans. Don't worry kids, we've already
booked our 2007 show dates at the Firehouse, so we'll be back again
next year!
Exit's premier performance of Folly was a huge hit! As you can see,
the hair and makeup were amazing and we had a ton of fun performing
for our loyal fans!

Exit
Dance Theatre premiered Fontaine Dubus' "Pit Girls" at its February
2004 performance at the Firehouse. This piece seeks to illuminate the
experience of 19th century English women who worked in the coal pits at
the various collieries in Northern England. In the latter part of the
century they were only allowed to work above the pits sorting coal etc.
They were most controversial not only because they worked a man's job,
but because they wore trousers, and pinned up their skirts in order to
keep them out of the way.
